Mohrbach packaging machines: spare part orders made easy

Point of departure
Prior to introducing the spare parts catalogue software CATALOGcreator®, Morbach's spare parts catalogue was created manually using an Excel list. In future, based on a web application of CATALOGcreator® the customer should be able to find and order spare parts in no time. For ordering purposes the customer can use the internet.
 
Requirements
The creation of a spare parts catalogue should preferably be automatic. The date for the object lists are taken from the „proAlpha“ system together with all article attributes and English translations. The 3D CAD - Data are converted directly from SolidWorks into the highly compressed XVL-format. It is also important to Mohrbach that catalogues can be generated for each customer order individually.

Solution
The 3D - models are immediately saved by the constructor  in the XVL-format following release by SolidWorks. The CC XML Data Converter of CATALOGcreator GmbH is started by proAlpha and "fed" with structured object lists. The Data Converter retrieves the XVL models assigned to individual building groups from a pool and passes the fully prepared information onto the CATALOGcreator® – Workbench. The Workbench merely serves to check the catalogues. Print-, CD- and Webexport are started by just pressing a button.
 
Experience and outlook
The organizational structure was improved and structures have become clearer in general. Due to the high level of automation of the electronic spare parts catalogue, as a result of CATALOGcreator®, much time and money is being saved. Since the navigation tree of CATALOGcreator® is similar to Windows Explorer, the customer will soon find his way around the known structures.
